What Happened in this Philly Crash?
We are learning that a couple, Carmen Ruiz, 48, and Lopez Rivera, 50, were killed in a crash in Philadelphia’s Bustleton neighborhood.
As they were riding on Bustleton Avenue and Red Lion Road last week, a Chevy Camaro that was speeding down Bustleton slammed into a Lexus at a red light.
The driver of the Camaro tried to speed away after the crash but then collided with the vehicle Ruiz and Rivera were in. This caused a chain-reaction crash that eventually involved three more vehicles.
Both Ruiz and Rivera died from their injuries and five other people, including two children, were injured. The driver of the Camaro left the vehicle and was picked up by another driver. Police are still searching for him.
“They were the best,” said Ruiz’s sister. “They were wonderful people. Innocent.”
Wrongful Death In A Crash
This is a tragic case, but one that plays out all too often. We do not know the exact cause of the crash.
