Do you have little ones at home? If you do, we know that you take their safety seriously. Parents, grandparents, and other relatives often ensure that there are toys at the house for their young family members, but are we sure that everything we get for them to play with is safe?

Today, we want to talk about a recent toy recall that highlights a larger problem with product safety in the US. call the Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C. so we can work on securing the compensation you deserve.

Check Your Home

It seems like there are so many recalls issues daily that we have become numb to what they really mean. Recently, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of wooden toys that were sold at Target stores and on the Target website last year.

The recall is for the “Bullseye’s Playground” small wooden toy vehicles. The CPSC says that they have small wheels that can become detached, posing a choking hazard for kids. They are recommending that you remove the toys from your home and return them for a full refund. They say that around half a million of the toys were sold.

What do you do when you hear about a recall?

Sometimes, the public responds swiftly, especially when it comes to products that are causing immediate sicknesses. When we hear about a vegetable or fruit that could cause E. coli, we know that everyone is cautious.

However, we are willing to bet that there are hundreds of recalls you never hear about. If you look at the government website that tracks current recalls throughout the country, you will see items in every industry that can cause harm to consumers.

There are many ways in which a product can cause an injury or illness. In most cases, they have:

  • Design flaws
  • Manufacturing errors
  • Labeling issues

With each of those problems, consumers can be harmed, whether it is a traumatic injury or an internal illness. In some cases, injuries do not become apparent for years after a product has been used. When a company or manufacturer is responsible for Injuries or illnesses, they need to be held responsible.

What We Can Do

Stop for a minute and think about all of the products you buy without ever making sure they are safe. We should not have to ever worry about something we purchase causing harm to ourselves or our loved ones, but we know that defective products make it to the store shelves.

At The Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C., we want to help you recover the compensation you deserve if you or a loved one are hurt. This can include:

  • Coverage of medical expenses
