We have learned that a pregnant woman who was involved in a crash with a suspected drunk driver has given birth. The crash happened on February 4 at around 2:40 a.m. at the intersection of Haverford and Overbook avenues.
Authorities say that a man and a pregnant woman were in a Chevy pickup truck at a red light. When they began going through the intersection, a Lexus sped through and struck them. Paramedics took the woman to the hospital where she gave birth to the baby.
The child is currently listed in critical condition. The mother and the male driver of the truck are in stable condition.
The 56-year-old driver of the Lexus was arrested for suspicion of DUI and driving with a Suspended License.
