At The Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C. you will find a Philadelphia Traffic Ticket Attorney who understands how devastating it can be to lose your license. Every year, several thousands of people in Pennsylvania lose their driving privileges due to a DUI Offense, unpaid traffic tickets or being caught Driving with a Suspended License. Many Philadelphia residents have had a suspended driver’s license for such a long period of time that they are not sure where to turn in order to get it restored. This is where one of our areas of practice is concentrated in. We help guide clients through the restoration process and ensure that the initial charges and sentences that caused their license to be revoked are handled.

Philadelphia Probationary License LawyerIf you have had your driver’s license suspended or revoked, you may qualify for a probationary license. A probationary license allows those who have otherwise lost their driving privileges to operate a non-commercial vehicle between the hours of 6am and 7pm.

The purpose of these privileges is to provide some degree of relief to Pennsylvania residents who have made mistakes in the past, but have completed a significant portion of their suspension period. A probationary license is not a right, but rather a kindness PennDOT may afford to you based on your particular circumstances and suspension/revocation period completed thus far.

If you are interested in securing a probationary license, The Law Offices of Greg Prosmushkin, P.C. can help. We can advise you as to your status, assist you in applying for a probationary license, and, in the event, you would like to request additional hours beyond 6am-7pm, represent your interests in making requesting this exception from PennDOT.

Requirements of a Probationary License

To qualify for a probationary license in Pennsylvania, you must have already completed a minimum of 3 to 6 years of your suspension or revocation. The precise requirements will be based upon the correlating violations which led to your suspension or revocation. Additionally, any outstanding judgments or citations must be satisfied and all restoration requirements completed. In short, any and all related matters must be resolved in order to potentially qualify for this privilege.

In the event your License Has Been Revoked, you must take and pass a driver’s road test prior to receiving a probationary license. Likewise, if you have never been licensed in Pennsylvania, but have already served at least 5 years of another state’s License Suspension, you may be eligible for a probationary license.

If you have been convicted of a DUI or DUI-related offense or granted ARD for DUI in the past, you must wait for 7 years to pass prior to being eligible for a probationary license. If you have ever been convicted of homicide by vehicle – whether DUI related or not – you will be permanently estopped from ever receiving a probationary license.
