A conviction of driving under the influence could possibly result in a driver’s license suspension. Even a first DUI offense can result in the revocation of your driving privileges for up to six months.

It is important that we take a moment to make it very clear that once your License Suspension ends, your license is NOT automatically reinstated. You will need to take certain steps to have your license restored. If you fail to do so, and drive post-suspension, but pre-license restoration, you may face additional penalties.
Once your DUI-related suspension has been completed, you should be eligible to have your license restored. In fact, about 30 days prior to the suspension’s completion, you will be mailed what is called a restoration requirements letter by PennDOT.
This letter will explain exactly what steps you must take in order to have your driving privileges restored. Typically, this involves paying any outstanding fees and a one-time driver’s license restoration fee.
